In collaboration with Chris Frank and Associates, Cathexis assessed the implementation of the first two Waves of the Learning Community for Health Quality Ontario (HQO), formerly the Quality Improvement and Innovation Partnership. The Learning Community introduces primary healthcare providers to the principles of quality improvement (QI). The evaluation had an eye to improving the components, learning what supports QI teams need, and informing the planning for Wave 3. Data were collected through a review of QIIP records, two surveys of team leads (actively participating and withdrawn), key informant interviews, and focus groups with team leads and the QI coaches. The evaluation resulted in lessons learned and suggestions for the future, which informed the development of Wave 3 of the Learning Community. Cathexis, again with Chris Frank and Associates, was fortunate enough to be involved with evaluation of Waves 3 and 4 in 2012.
The report for the evaluation of Waves 1 and 2 of the Learning Community can be found on HQO’s website.
