Cathexis congratulates Martha McGuire, newest CES Fellow

At the most recent conference of the Canadian Evaluation Society (CES) in Halifax (May 26-29, 2019), the CES inducted two new Fellows. Cathexis is very proud to congratulate our company’s founder, Martha McGuire, on her induction into the Fellowship this year.

The Fellowship recognizes lifetime achievement, service, and prominence in evaluation. Martha is undoubtedly well-deserving of this recognition, having almost 30 years of experience in the field and being one of the first evaluators in Canada to be designated as a Credentialed Evaluator by the Canadian Evaluation Society. Martha has for years been an active volunteer at the Ontario chapter and national levels of CES and has provided mentorship to dozens of emerging professionals who have gone on to be accomplished evaluators in their own right.

In nominating her for this title, Martha’s peers said: “Martha is well respected across Canada, and around the world, for her practical and utilization-focused approach to evaluation. At the same time, she has demonstrated how to undertake evaluation work with integrity, never shying away from ‘speaking truth to power’, even at the risk of considerable personal sacrifice. Martha’s integrity as an evaluator is a shining example to the profession and a credit to CES.”

Congratulations, Martha! Congratulations also to Larry Bremner, also named a CES fellow at this year’s awards ceremony.
