Emily developed an interest in evaluation through her studies and hands-on experience during her undergraduate degree. She holds a Bachelor of Public Health from the University of Waterloo, with an option in Aging Studies and a minor in Sociology. Her undergraduate thesis examined trends in awareness and use of Canadian school food programs to explore how research can inform policy and practice.
Her experience includes grant writing, literature reviews, and organizational policy development. She has supported a variety of projects in government and non-profit settings, informed by her front-line experience working with vulnerable populations.
She spends her free time looking for ways to get outdoors through climbing and camping but also finds time to unwind with knitting and a good book.
