Steven is an evaluator who takes great joy in diving into complex social change initiatives. He cares about helping organizations tell the story behind their programs and services with data. Having worked in the field of evaluation across Canada and internationally for over five years, Steven believes meaningful engagement is essential for uncovering learning and demonstrating outcomes.

Alongside evaluation, Steven brings skills in applied research. He has published on various health programming topics including food security, climate change, and environmental health. Steven also often thinks about how evaluations might be done differently, and has published on evaluation designs including gender-responsive evaluation, Theory of Change, and Outcome Mapping.

Outside of Cathexis, Steven is working on completing his dissertation focused on how all evaluations – regardless of the program evaluated – can commit to equity and climate action. In his free time, Steven can be found rock climbing, gardening, or reading fiction.
